Axl Rose joins AC/DC

AC/DC have just announced Axl Rose as their Rock or Bust World Tour frontman, after the sad (but understandable) departure of Brian Johnson. Considering it was a late backup solution, AC/DC could have actually done worse. Axl has (or used to have) that uncontrollable flair and intensity that gives any performance a greater dimension… but still couldn’t avoid the undeniable decline of Guns N’ Roses over the years. Unfortunately, AC/DC have enough history, experience and quality to get (almost) any frontman (available or not)… but they just settled for Axl. I understand their musical style limits their search range but what about Bruce Dickinson, Geoff Tate, Roy Khan and Joel O’Keeffe? They all can get up and high as Brian… but, the truth is, not all of them are currently receiving the attention from the media Axl is receiving due to Guns N’ Roses’ reunion tour Nightrain. With him, AC/DC can get a reasonable frontman and appeal to a wider range of fans eager to see him perform. A bold but desperate move from AC/DC that, one way or another, is going to be remembered for a long time. I am curious to see how it will work out, but rooting for the best. MRR
